January 27, 2024

Shortly after midnight, a fire alarm dispatched to the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore was quickly upgraded to a working building fire. An apartment unit was reported to be on fire with heavy smoke in the hallways. Penn Wynne Fire was dispatched and upon arrival, went right to work along side Ardmore helping advance hose lines and supporting fire suppression. Penn Wynne firefighters also conducted a secondary search for residents and fire extension. Crews from Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills, and Narberth Ambulance worked hard to bring the fire under control and assisted residents with the impact on their apartments. Stations from the surrounding area were brought in to help cover the township while Lower Merion worked to fight a late night fire.
